Usery Mountain Park, Arizona

Yvonne had mentioned several times since our arrival here in Arizona that she wanted to walk the trails in Usery Park just outside Mesa. Last Tuesday, with our friends Sandi and Tito, we did just that. The moderate walk/hike/climb to Wind Cave was our goal and it took us around an hour to reach the spot shown at the tip of the red arrow in the first picture below. It looks further than it actually is, only 1.6 miles from where we are standing in the first picture and it takes less than 30 minutes to walk, one way....

Sandi and Tito were up to the challenge too.

Sandi and Yvonne taking a breather.

Yvonne approaching the end of the trail. Hiking beyond this point is not
recommended for novice climbers and we already thought we were
pushing our luck by going this far.

 Interesting rock. Any snakes here?
